Maxine Uttal comes from New York and received her fine arts education at the Tyler School of Fine Arts, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA and the Art Students’ League in NYC.  She moved to Hilton Head Island in 2001 and was inspired to begin sculpting in ceramic clay.  Maxine holds ceramic workshops in her studio and exhibits at Hilton Head Art Galleries.  Pieces of her work have won awards, are owned by individuals and businesses around the country and have been selected for display in numerous juried competitions around the country.
